About
Sandro Asatiani (Alexander Asatiani) is an artist, communication designer and educator based in Tbilisi, Georgia. For almost thirty years he has made books, images and exhibitions — and, more and more, systems built with artificial intelligence.
He studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, then painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and at MCAD in Minneapolis. In Florence he worked and exhibited, and he has shown his work there regularly since.
His illustrated books, published by Sandro’s Books, exist in seven languages. His work has been exhibited in Florence, Paris, Vienna, Graz, Minneapolis, Macau and Tbilisi.
He is an Associate Professor at Ilia State University and an invited professor at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, a co-founder of the GeoLab educational centre, and Head of AI Transformation & Automation at A Group — Aldagi, Imedi L and Ardi.
With Karl Stocker he wrote The Art of Using AI (2025) and curated the Hostile Noise festival (2026).
