Books in the Boxes
Three small picture books, written and illustrated by Sandro Asatiani, each packed in a cardboard box together with an object from its story.
House Without a Roof: a beetle builds himself a house, but forgets the roof — the box holds the pebble that would cover it. Great Traveler: a mosquito sails the pond he calls the ocean on a twig, and hands his ship over to the author. The Grasshopper and His Problems: nobody visits a grasshopper who has no tablecloth, so the author cuts one from his canvas.
20 pages each, 148 × 180 mm, 2016. Published by Sandro’s Books in English, Italian, Russian and Georgian. English translation by Mariam Amirejibi-Mullen.
